Jordan James can’t remember a time when his life didn’t revolve around his love of country music. The Atlanta, GA native began singing and writing at an early age.
His first performance may have been as a three years old singing every word to “Blue Clear Sky” from the backseat of his parents’ minivan, but it didn’t take long for Jordan James to find himself on stages in front of sold-out crowds. At 12 years old, Jordan was selected to sing with Kenny Rogers at his annual Christmas concert. It was at that moment his musical dream was born. He quickly began sharing the stage with country stars including Jake Owen, Mark Wills, and Charles Kelly and won the Nashville CMT Rising Star award and the Most Outstanding New Vocalist
James was hand-picked by legendary producer and 14-time Grammy Award-Winner David Foster to be a part of Foster’s 2009 Hit Man Tour where James played to crowds across the country. Following the tour and wanting to escape a heartbreak, James left Georgia and headed for the West Coast. In Los Angeles he quickly found himself writing and achieved success with major pop and Country artists including MICHAEL RAY, Andy Grammer, Hailee Steinfeld, and others recording his songs.
Despite his success writing for pop, James found himself longing to get back to his country roots. He returned to Nashville with wisdom beyond his years and is now carving his own path in Music City. With a refined musical style that can best be described as “country music for the 21st century” he’s primed to make his mark.
Throughout his career, the one thing that has remained consistent is writing about things that mean the most to him. With a unique ability to make vulnerability seem effortless, James has penned songs about love and heartbreak and even his own adoption.
“My writing style has definitely been influenced by my experiences in LA, but my heart is and always Will be in country music,” explains James.
“Growing up just outside Atlanta, I’ve always felt like I had the best of both worlds – city and country – and that’s what I want my music to reflect.”
